The Challenge

SweepBank, a digital banking brand under Multitude, aimed to disrupt traditional banking with a fully mobile experience. But with a lean team and tight timeline, we faced key challenges:

  • High drop-off rates in onboarding

  • Fragmented user flows and inconsistent UI

  • Lack of foundational design systems or clear product vision

My Role

As the Lead Product Designer, I partnered closely with the CPO and cross-functional squads. I steered design efforts from initial discovery to final delivery — ensuring we met aggressive business goals without compromising usability.

Our Strategy

  1. Rapid Discovery & Alignment

  • Conducted stakeholder interviews to align on KPIs and business goals

  • Audited competitive mobile banking experiences across Europe.

2. Lean Prototyping & Validation

  • Created mid-fidelity prototypes to test key flows (onboarding, dashboard, transactions)

  • Ran usability tests with target users to validate and iterate quickly

3. Design System & Scalability

  • Established a foundation component library and UI guidelines

  • Enable faster handoffs and ensured consistency across native platforms (iOS & Android)

4. Close Collaboration with Dev & Product

  • Worked in 2-week sprints embedded in squads

  • Provided specs, edge-case documentation, and accessibility guidance

Results

  • Onboarding completion rate doubled within 3 months post-launch

  • Product scaled from MVP to full-featured banking app used across several EU countries
